#120 Modern Methods of Construction Microcredentials

Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) is an approach to building that has gained widespread attention in the construction sector to deliver housing, with greater speed, efficiency, quality and affordability. Successful adoption of MMC will require developing and delivering skills, training and education programs to both the next generation of sector participants as well as upskilling the existing workforce.

Homes NSW in collaboration with Building 4.0 CRC is currently engaged in a 3-year research project “The Homes NSW MMC Program” which is implementing a Kit-of-Parts approach to standardised, modular construction of multi-storey dwellings. Homes NSW requires a clear educational framework to support, upskill and transition its workforce to enable MMC program delivery. Building 4.0 CRC will work with TAFE NSW to further contextualise new microcredentials being developed by the Institute of Applied Technology for Construction to support further training and upskilling in MMC for businesses and professionals working in industry.
