#106 Retrofitting Reimagined: Enabling circular economy with a Product–Service System Toolkit

This 12-month research project, led by the Faculty of Architecture, Building and Planning at the University of Melbourne in partnership with Airmaster and Arup, is designed to address the critical gap between the growing demand for circular economy practices and their limited adoption in the Australian construction industry. By developing an evidence-based toolkit, the project will enable the systematic integration of Product-Service System models into building retrofitting processes.

Drawing on interdisciplinary expertise and empirically validated use cases, this initiative advances sustainability, resource efficiency and transformative business models, positioning Australia at the forefront of circular economy implementation in the built environment.
