Construction is used to seeing temporary teams creating one-off products in response to unique and changeable site conditions. But what opportunities exist when, instead of project-based thinking, a broader, platform-based approach is applied? The CRC’s latest scoping study, “Projects to Platforms: Investigating New Forms of Collaboration”, is investigating precisely this.

Construction is also feeling the squeeze when it comes to the supply of materials – in particular, the timber sector, where consumer demand is evident, but where the growth in demand to produce sawn timber products cannot be met if current practices continue. CRC project, “Data analytics for structural fibre resources optimisation”, is using a data analytics approach to address both issues.
