Dr Laura Gutierrez-Bucheli is a Research Fellow at the Future Building Initiative lab at Monash University. Her research concentrates on using industrialised construction to improve productivity and sustainability, with an emphasis on developing a future-oriented workforce. She brings a unique transdisciplinary perspective to construction research, drawing from her background in civil engineering and a PhD in Education, focused on engineering education for sustainability. Her experience in higher and further education projects further enriches this lens, driving her exploration of innovative solutions in the construction industry.

Before joining Monash University, Laura was a university lecturer in Colombia, where she engaged in applied research on digital-enabled project management with a focus on Lean construction and taught construction project management.
