UoM Dr Xuemei Liu, Senior Lecturer, Department of Infrastructure Engineering

Dr Liu has worked in structural engineering for more than 15 years, and has been working in the specialised field of concrete technology including high performance concrete, durability and concrete rheology, concrete-steel/timber composites, and impact engineering. She has been working closely with industry and government organisations to carry out research in these areas. Examples include development of ultra-lightweight but high strength cement composite for buildings and offshore structures, developing protective and resilient structures and infrastructures to resist impact and blast loadings.

Facilities: The University of Melbourne is equipped with first-class facilities at Heidelberg and Fishermans Bend for materials and structure testings, including the advanced materials lab, heavy industrial lab to test the structures and materials including durability, mechanical behaviour, earthquake engineering, fire performance etc.
