QUT School of Architecture and Built Environment
DrMark Limb has expertise in the implementation and evaluation of regulatory land use planning systems. His research assesses the efficacy of urban planning and seeks to understand ways planning can better achieve sustainable development outcomes. Kirsty’s expertise is in housing diversity through both traditional research and architectural practice. Kirsty and Mark’s research intersects on the topic of the ‘Missing Middle,’ divergent models for affordable housing and the potential for prefabrication to meet the demand of shifting preferences for housing in Australia.
Facilities: Mark uses GIS, geostatistical and image analysis, document analysis, and qualitative research methods in his research. Kirsty uses BIM software and climatic analytical tools to arrive at evidence-based design outcomes for buildings. Both of these technologies will assist in prototyping and modelling project outcomes for internal and external stakeholders and could be used to assist with any built prototype outcomes.
