Monash Software Engineering Group

Monash Software Engineering Group’s research focuses on inventing new approaches for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining large-scale complex AI and data-intensive software systems to maximise the positive social and economic impact. The three main research focuses include: 1) How can we incorporate diverse human aspects into software development; 2) How can we improve developers’ productivity by automating their day-to-day tasks; and, 3) How can we deliver the highest quality and the most secure software. The group has been working with multidisciplinary domains on SE for social good, e.g. developing patient wait-time prediction systems for emergency departments and developing COVID-19 cases and vaccines tracking. They have received many prestigious awards including one ARC Laureate Fellowship, five ARC DECRA Fellowships, and many Facebook, Google, Alibaba, and Huawei Research grants.

Facilities: This group is the largest software engineering group in Australia, with 12 award-winning academic staffs, 10+ Research Follows, and 30+ PhD students. They are equipped with excellent infrastructure for both CPU/GPU computing resources and high-volume secure data storage and secure data transfer.
