Monash Machine Learning Group, Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

Machine Learning and Deep Learning are the computational sciences that drive data science and artificial intelligence. The team covers association discovery, Bayesian methods, causal models, classification, forecasting, semi-supervised and unsupervised models, and spatio-temporal models, and they work with a broad variety of data including image, text, medical, manufacturing, sensor and multi-model data. Their passion is fundamental developments, embedding their technology in AI or human-in-the-loop systems, and of course putting it all together to see a system having impact.

Facilities: Their work is mainly computational, so they don’t have special hardware. But, they do have good access to their own and Monash’s excellent computer infrastructure for heavy-duty deep learning and machine learning work.
