Monash Dr Xavier Ho, Lecturer, Department of Design, Interaction Design

Dr Xavier Ho is a hybrid design and software practitioner-researcher with over seven years’ industry experience in co-designing meaningful data visualisations. Xavier was the front-end lead on CSIRO’s early algal bloom detection tool, which was recently shortlisted for the Victorian Premier’s Design Award in Digital Design. Xavier is also the creator of the Smoke and Fire interactive visualisation of Australian air pollution. His notable corporate citizen contributions include the CSIRO Medal for Diversity and Inclusion as part of the Pride@CSIRO workgroup.

Facilities: Based at Monash Art, Design and Architecture, Xavier has access to a range of workshops and studios for design, including the Digital Fabrication workshop and iHUB – a nationally networked digital infrastructure platform for built environment research, synthesis and engagement. Xavier also has access to SensiLab, with facilities for immersive visualisation s   paces, sound, and imaging studios.
