Monash Department of Banking and Finance

The Department of Banking and Finance at Monash University is one of the largest and best-established departments of its kind in the world. Members of the Department publish their research in leading international academic journals and successfully manage multiple research grant-funded projects, including ARC and industry-linked projects. Recent research projects in the department include: How do companies choose between debt and equity to finance new investments; Fintech; Small business finance; Risk management; Initial public offerings; Mergers and acquisitions; CEO and directors’ remuneration; Corporate governance; Bank lending.

Facilities: Over 55 full-time research active staff members with PhD qualifications, as well as a large number of part-time staff members, teaching fellows, research and casual staff. First-class resources and research infrastructure: Access to most financial databases; Access to and skills in providing survey research (such as Qualtrics); Extensive statistical and econometrics skill base.
