Director Prof. Ivan Marusic
Ivan is a Redmond Barry Distinguished Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Melbourne. From 2017-2021 he served as the Deputy Dean Research in the Faculty of Engineering and IT.
Professor Marusic has an illustrious research career, working in the area of fluid mechanics, on topics of turbulence related to engineering and environmental flows. He has pioneered the development of large wind tunnel facilities.
Over his career he has held a number of prestigious fellowships, including an Australian Research Council (ARC) Laureate Fellowship (2012-2017), ARC Federation Fellowship (2006-2011), and a Packard Fellowship in Science and Engineering (2001-2006).
He is recipient of a number of awards including a US NSF Career Award, the Woodward Medal at the University of Melbourne and the Stanley Corrsin Award from the American Physical Society.
He is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and the Australian Academy of Technology & Engineering.
In 2019 he completed the Foundations of Directorship program at the Australian Institute of Company Directors, and currently holds a director position as Council Member of the Australian Academy of Science.
