Nghia Phuc Tran

Nghia is a PhD candidate, and he also works as a Research Assistant at the Department of Infrastructure Engineering, University of Melbourne.

Nghia holds his B.Eng (Hons) and M.Eng degrees in Civil Engineering. He has received many honours, awards and scholarships for excellent academic achievement during his studies, namely the prestigious University Medal, Valedictorian and Dean Awards.

Nghia has a solid technical background with sound knowledge and interests in materials science and waste valorisation, aiming to mitigate the environmental impact of the construction and building industry. His research looks to enhance the long-term sustainability and engineering properties of low-carbon concrete via the multi-scale approach ranging from nano, micro, meso to macro scale.

Nghia has published several articles in high-ranked scientific journals. He also serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Materials in Civil Engineering – American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).
