Mahdi Valitabar

Mahdi is currently a PhD student at Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Architectural Engineering. His passion lies in Environmentally Sustainable Design (ESD) strategies aimed at reducing building energy consumption and enhancing occupant comfort. Mahdi teaches fundamentals of passive design strategies, parametric design, and Ladybug Tools for building energy modelling in the Advanced Building Science unit for master’s students at QUT.

His research focuses on Personalized Environmental Control Systems (PECS) to enhance occupant comfort in an energy-efficient manner. He is exploring the potential of leveraging low-cost sensors, cameras, and machine-learning techniques to collect and analyse big data for building automation.
