Engagement Advisor Kathy MacDermott

Kathy has over 37 years’ experience in property, operations and communications, including working as the Chief Operating Officer of the Property Council of Australia (2014-2021). Her experience includes 11 years as a property journalist at the Australian Financial Review, seven years as Queensland Bureau Chief.

Kathy has worked in corporate communications, change management and stakeholder engagement in Australia and London, including issues and crisis management, and investor relations.

Kathy was the program director of the Property Champions of Change, from its establishment in 2015 to July 2021. Along with diversity, Kathy is committed to addressing youth homelessness through her work with the Property Industry Foundation and The Big Issue’s Homes for Homes initiative.
