Policy and Regulation Dr Eric Windholz

Eric is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Law, and an Associate with its Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies. Eric’s research explores how regulatory theory, public policy and the law intersect to inform regulatory regime design and implementation.  Eric brings to his research a unique combination of perspectives born from more than 25 years’ experience working, first, in private practice (with what is now leading international law firm, Allens), second in the heavily regulated fast-moving consumer goods industry (in Australia, Hong Kong and New York), third as a regulator of industry (Eric previously was General Manager and General Counsel of WorkSafe Victoria) and, now, as an academic specialising in regulatory theory and practice.  This combination of private, public and academic experience gives his research a strong policy and practical orientation, enabling him to bridge the gap between theory and practice.
