Wen is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering, The University of Melbourne, where he leads the development of the Manufacturing and Industrial Systems group and coordinates the Master of Industrial Engineering course. He was previously a postdoctoral fellow at the UNSW, a lead researcher in the Joint German-Australian Research Group with TUBS, and an entrepreneur for start-ups. His main research activities include energy and eco-efficiency of manufacturing processes and system, lifecycle analysis of emerging technologies, industrial IoT for cleaner production and supply chain, as well as material and resource efficiency and criticality.
