Ali Pakdel
Ali is undertaking his PhD at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). He completed his B.Sc and M.Sc in architectural engineering in Iran.
Ali’s research interests lie in carbon emission reduction, building information modelling (BIM) and life cycle environmental and cost assessment(LCA/LCC). His current interest is integrating AI tools with LCA at the initial stages of building design to optimise final cost and carbon emission. He aims to develop a model to predict embodied carbon and the cost of non-structural materials at the early stage of the building’s design using a ML approach. To increase applicability, he also aims to develop a plugin tool for Revit.
He was a research assistant in funded research projects with the theme of designing and constructing a passive building in Iran and energy auditing of facilities.
