Building 4.0 CRC Chair awarded Order of Australia

Chair of Building 4.0 CRC, Dr Bronwyn Evans AM, has made it onto the Queen’s Birthday 2021 Honours List for her significant service to engineering, to standards, and to medical technology.

This award as a Member in the General Division (AM) on 14 June 2021 brings her official recognition tally to three, with Dr Evans having previously been recognised as one of Australia’s 100 most influential engineers, as well as recognised as a 100 Women of Influence.

Dr Evans has over 35 years’ experience in various engineering roles, including at Cochlear and GE Healthcare. She is currently CEO of Engineers Australia and a Director of Standard Communications (GME), having previously been the CEO of Standards Australia and Vice President (Finance) of the International Standards Organisation (ISO).

She has also held positions in innovation initiatives, including as Chair of MTPConnect (the Industry Growth Centre for Medical Technologies and Pharmaceuticals), and is a member of the Industry 4.0 Advanced Manufacturing Forum Leadership group.

“It is a privilege to have made the Queen’s Birthday Honours List,” Dr Evans said. “I have always been passionate about innovative engineering, and to have been recognised in this way is a real honour.”
