Our CEO Prof. Mathew Aitchison and Brendan Coates from the Grattan Institute were on the ABC Life Matters program Wednesday 28 May, discussing how modular housing can help meet the housing shortfall.

Mathew discussed our project with Homes NSW, which essentially involves splitting buildings into products that come together on site and fit together – like a piece of furniture from IKEA.

“The aim is to have as many manufacturers as possible making as many of these products as possible.”

He also touched on productivity in the building and construction industry:

“In the short term, we need to pull all levers and try all things. And in the longer term, we really need to address why innovation has been so bad in the construction industry.”
