Ryo oversees the R&D projects for Sumitomo Forestry, including managing the projects at Building 4.0 CRC which is the largest R&D commitment for the company.

Being an internationally licensed Architect, with over 20yrs experience in Construction and Real Estate industry, Ryo has designed, led and managed a number of development projects internationally, encompassing from Residential, Educational to Office Buildings and Premium Resort Hotels during his tenure at a major architectural firm in Japan and at a renowned private equity fund Lone Star Group from US.

After joining Sumitomo Forestry in 2014, he has both managed a major residential subdivision project over 1,000 lots in Melbourne and a master planned multi storey community in Sydney of 360 units and currently seeking to develop mid to high rise timber solutions both in Australia and New Zealand, integrating the value chain of Sumitomo Forestry’s international operation.
