$4m MMC research and development project to increase NSW social housing

Building 4.0 CRC and the New South Wales Government have announced (2 May 2024) a $4 million Research and Development program harnessing modern methods of construction (MMC) to increase medium density social housing supply.

The NSW Government has committed $2 million for the program, matched with a $2 million contribution from Building 4.0 CRC, an industry-led research initiative funded by the Australian Government. The landmark research will prove-up new ways to build homes and include a series of prototypes and medium density social housing projects built using MMC where residents, industry, and the community can experience first-hand those buildings created.
