We have two fantastic opportunities for architecture professionals to be part of an innovative project that brings together leading researchers and industry professionals to leverage modern methods of construction in Homes NSW social housing projects.

Role 1 – Concept Designer & Researcher (2–3 days/ week) – The goal is to contribute to the kit of parts system and demonstrate that a kit of parts can be used to make good quality architectural designs of a reasonable range of configurations while meeting the objectives of HomesNSW.

Role 2 – Detail Component Designer & Researcher (2–3 days/ week) – The goal is to develop a minimum set of components that existing supply chains can provide to serve as a starting point for a system.

We are looking for these roles to start immediately and will be reviewing candidates as applications are received. 

About the Project

Building 4.0 CRC is undertaking a project with Homes NSW, Monash University and University of Melbourne (Project #95) to develop strategies and methods to utilise modern methods of construction (MMC) in Homes NSW projects.  

The intent of the program is to deliver more social housing with increased benefits for Homes NSW and their tenants. The areas of focus will address:

  • Speed and efficiency of housing delivery
  • Cost and value for money
  • Tenant satisfaction and experience
  • Sustainability and resilience
  • Operations and maintenance.
