Engagement & Research Education Leader Dr Sarah Breen Lovett
In addition to this position, Sarah is a creative-research practitioner, and most recently has been employed as Lecturer and Lab Manger at Future Building Initiative, MADA Monash University, as well as Post-doctoral Researcher and Lab Manager of the Innovation in Applied Design Lab at The University of Sydney
Sarah completed a PhD in Architecture with a thesis titled “Expanded Architectural Awareness”, a Bachelor of Interior Design (First Class Honours), as well as a Bachelor and Masters of Architecture.
Her dedicated architectural and interior design career has spanned 10 years on numerous residential, commercial, and industrial projects in Sydney and London. Following this, Sarah was an academic for over 10 years at the University of Sydney, University of Technology Sydney, and Monash University, where she tutored, coordinated, and lectured in various design studios and electives.
During this period she focused on creative research outcomes, and most notably directed the Expanded Architecture Exhibitions, which were held over four years as part of the Sydney Architecture festival; co-curated of the Cinecity Architectural Film as part of the Australian Institute of Architects Conference for four years; co-directed the first Annual Design Research Conference at The University of Sydney, and continues co-curates the Building 4.0 CRC Events, Annual Showcase and Annual Conferences.
Sarah continues to publish, curate, present, and exhibit nationally and internationally.
